Hey everyone, I’ve been using WordPress for ages, and lately, I’ve noticed more plugins moving to paid subscriptions. I use about 10 plugins regularly, and the costs are adding up—some even charge $30-$50 a month. How are you all managing this? Any tips for saving money or finding alternatives?
What plugins are you paying for? I’ve found some great lifetime deals on Codecanyon and from indie devs. Also, many free plugins still handle basic functions well.

I’m so happy I grabbed the ACF lifetime license. It’s been a lifesaver!
@Hart
Totally agree! Best decision ever.
I missed out on that deal. Still kicking myself!
There’s an alternative called ACPT. They offer a lifetime plan too—worth checking out.

Getting a refund on Codecanyon can be tricky. Be careful with purchases there.
@Sorrell
I’ve actually had a good experience with their refunds—granted a few times without hassle. What issues did you face?

It used to be easier. Lately, I’ve found support less helpful.
Are you using WooCommerce? A lot of their plugins should just be part of the core features.

It’s actually ‘hear hear,’ not ‘here here,’ lol.

WordPress is stuck trying to please everyone. If they add these features, plugin devs get upset. If they don’t, users like us get frustrated.
@Crosby
Totally. I even tried submitting my own plugin but kept getting rejected over small issues. It’s exhausting.

Sounds like you need to double-check their guidelines before submitting.
@Hart
I followed them, but they still rejected it. It’s so frustrating.
What plugins are costing you so much? I use several premium ones, but they’re rarely over $200 a year. Lifetime deals can save you a lot in the long run too.

Sounds like the original poster is falling for upsells and flashy marketing.
@Avery
It happens more often than you’d think. Clients end up overpaying for plugins until they find someone who knows what they’re doing.
