What plugins do you swear by for e-commerce with WordPress

I’m curious to know which plugins you all use for your WordPress e-commerce sites. Any must-haves or personal favorites? Share what works best for you, especially for things like payments, security, and SEO.

I’d love to hear suggestions on what works for you. I’m trying to find the best setup for an online store.

Elementor is my go-to. Super easy to design with.

If Elementor is optimized properly, it can perform really well. I’ve worked on a site that scored 100/100 on Google PageSpeed for mobile. The key is using lightweight themes and disabling unused features. People blame Elementor a lot, but optimization makes all the difference.

I’ve used Elementor Pro with WooCommerce for an e-commerce project, and it worked great. With some tweaking, it scored well on speed tests and made designing pages much faster.

Here comes the Elementor fan club.

  • WooCommerce: The backbone of any WordPress e-commerce store.
  • Yoast SEO: Helps with search engine visibility.
  • Stripe Payment Gateway: For seamless payments.
  • PDF Invoices: Generates professional invoices automatically.
  • MonsterInsights: Tracks site performance.
  • UpdraftPlus: For backups.
  • Sucuri Security: Protects the site from hacks and malware.

Why not just go with Shopify? It has everything built-in. I’m curious why you’d pick WordPress instead.

With WordPress, I get full control over the design. I can make it exactly how I want, and I don’t feel restricted like I do with Shopify.

@Campbell
That makes sense. Do you handle all the payments and security on your own?

I’ve heard too many horror stories about Shopify freezing accounts or not providing support when it’s needed most. With WordPress, you own your store and data, which feels more reliable to me.

Some must-haves for WordPress e-commerce:

  • WooCommerce for managing the store.
  • Yoast SEO for improving search rankings.
  • WP Rocket for speeding up the site.
  • Sucuri for security.
  • Mailchimp for email marketing.

These cover the essentials, from running the store to keeping it secure and visible.

Here’s what I’d recommend:

  1. WooCommerce – The obvious choice for e-commerce.
  2. AIOSEO – Helps optimize product pages for better visibility.
  3. LiveChat – For customer support and boosting sales.
  4. OptinMonster – Great for creating pop-ups and capturing leads.
  5. UpdraftPlus – Keeps your store backed up.

If you’re starting out, these plugins should cover most needs.

One plugin I highly recommend is Uncanny Automator. It’s like Zapier, but it works entirely within WordPress. You can automate actions between different plugins, like sending an email or adding someone to a course after they make a purchase. It’s super handy!

@Marston
This sounds amazing. Thanks for sharing!

The fewer plugins, the better. Only use what’s absolutely necessary.
