Which WordPress plugins do you always install?

Here’s what I usually install:

  • ASE
  • Elementor Pro
  • ACF
  • Solid Security
  • Rank Math SEO

Rank Math feels bloated. Any better alternatives?

I built a plugin called Environment Control Tools. Helps me manage staging and production environments. Also changes the admin bar color and favicon for staging, so I don’t mix them up. It’s not on WordPress.org since they rejected it, but it’s been a lifesaver for me.

@Perrin
That sounds super useful! Do you have it on GitHub or somewhere?

InstantImages is a favorite of mine for grabbing Pixabay and Unsplash photos directly into WordPress. So convenient.

Are the file sizes manageable? And doesn’t Gutenberg already have something for Pexels?

@Onyx
You can pick the resolution in the settings. Not sure about Pexels in Gutenberg, though.

I’ve never used ACF. What does it actually do?

ACF is great for creating custom fields. It lets you add extra data fields to posts, pages, or other content types, making it easier to manage complex data.
