Wordpress plugin development… is it still worth it?

Thanks for the input. Checking out Gutenberg now :+1::heart:

Wordpress powers about 40% of the web. It’s not going anywhere anytime soon.

Thanks for the insight. But market share alone doesn’t show how easy it is for a smaller developer to succeed. For example, the app market is huge, but big companies dominate due to their massive budgets. My question is more about whether a solo dev can break into this space.

@Jaden
It’s about building trust with your customers. Start small, build a portfolio, and grow from there. Many businesses start as side projects before scaling up.

True, but some markets are tougher to break into than others. Knowing which ones are beginner-friendly matters. For instance, I wouldn’t recommend indie devs jump into mobile games without a big budget.

@Jaden
You’ll never know unless you try. Good luck!

Most ‘developers’ can’t manage a proper Wordpress site or plugin. If you’re legit, there’s a huge gap to fill. Just stand out from the 99% who don’t know what they’re doing.
