I’m helping a small rural business group, and we need a plugin to manage yearly membership payments and event tickets. Members should get discounted tickets, while non-members pay full price. Ideally, it should allow credit card payments. I checked out Memberspace, but it’s pricey. Any suggestions?
MemberPress might be a bit cheaper. From what you’ve said, it seems like your membership isn’t tied to access to exclusive content on your site, right? If that’s the case, you could consider using something like Square memberships, Stripe billing, or PayPal subscriptions.
Another option could be WooCommerce. You can create an ‘Annual Membership’ as a product or use their subscription extension. It might be a good fit if you’re already using WooCommerce for tickets.

MemberPress can actually do what you need. Even though it doesn’t handle event registration directly, you can integrate it with other plugins. For example, you can set up two membership options: one for non-members at full price and another at a discount for members. This setup works well if you link it with an events plugin to manage the tickets.
It’s flexible enough to protect both site content and specific signups for events.

That’s a good point! I suggested alternatives because the original poster mentioned Memberspace was expensive.

Thanks for the info, I’ll keep that in mind while testing different plugins.
@Zen
Appreciate the suggestion, I’ll check it out
Have you looked into SureCart? I’ve had a good experience with it.

Thanks, I’ll add it to my list of options to try!
