Jetpack adds a lot of files, and many sites see their load times increase by 20% or more.

Here’s my list:

  • Redirection
  • ACF
  • CPT UI (but switching to ACF for this)
  • Yoast SEO
  • Mailgun
  • Oxygen
  • CookieYes
  • Formidable Forms

This covers most needs unless the site requires WooCommerce.

Don’t forget to add UpdraftPlus for backups.

A few plugins I love:

  • MetaBox for custom post types
  • WP Rocket for caching
  • Grid Builder WP
  • WPCodeBox for snippets
  • CleanTalk for spam protection
  • Motion.Page for animations

For themes, I recommend Oxygen or Bricks.

First thing I install:

  • Updraft Backup Plugin
  • Page Duplicator Plugin

Everything else comes after that.
